After a long day of unexpected TFW2005 server upgrades, we have a little time to share an update to the reveal of Masterpiece Movie MPM Jazz and Megatron in China yesterday.  Official images have been released by Hasbro, and we get a really good look at both of the 2007 Movie incarnations of these guys.

Jazz will come with a static Sam figure holding the Allspark, his weapon and a spinal cord add on to display him in “YOU WANT A PIECE OF ME / NO I WANT TWO” mode.

Megatron will come with an arm extension for his mace, fusion canon parts and an open chest to place an Allspark Cube in.

Following our report of the Studio Series Voyager Class Wave 5 at US retail, now we got word that the Studio Series Leader Class Wave 2 has also bee released at US Retail

Thanks to 2005 Boards member thatonefoo sent us photographic proof and receipt of his sighting of Studio Series Leader Class SS-34Dark Of The Moon Megatron who was found at Target in Alhambra, California. His wave partner SS-35 Revenge Of The Fallen Jetfire should be found on shelves any time soon.

Artist Ken Christiansen has been sharing several pieces of concept art he made for the Transformers: The Game from 2007. This game was part of the many Transformers live-action movie products back in the day.

We have several images of characters from the video game (some of them even were made into toys eventually) together with some comments from Ken Christiansen about each of them from his Facebook account.

• Transformers: The Game Triple Changer Shockwave Concept art: “Here’s an oldie, but one of my all time favorite designs. Time stamped August, 2006. Wow, that’s getting old. So happy to see this character appear in G1 form in the #bumblebeemovie . Scroll through to get some purple action, along with black color variations for the game. Went from a ‘Super Howitzer’ to an Apache copter”.
• Transformers: The Game Swindle Concept art: “The first character I designed for the game, which turned out to be the first toy I ever contributed to. Scroll for concept art, initial concept sketch, and shots of the figure. So if this – getting to work on Transformers, designing characters for Transformers, having those designs being made into toys – wasn’t enough of a mind blower for me, the figure was included in the press pack to support the film. It was fun times.”
• Transformers: The Game Dropkick Concept art: “The second character I designed for the game, which turned out to be another toy! Swipe for concept art, initial concept sketch, and shots of the figure. It was originally meant to be just a gray truck, but as Hasbro worked on the figure, they came up with the Decepticon symbol graphic, and asked us to add it to the in game character. Happily, because it looked awesome.”
• Transformers: The Game Dirtboss Concept art: “Dirtboss? That’s a name! The third character I designed for the game, which turned out to be another toy! But not for Transformers : the Movie, he came in 2009 as part of the Revenge of the Fallen line. That made me happy, because he was my favorite drone design, a little scrappy guy, so I was glad to see him get a toy version. Swipe for concept art, initial concept sketch, and shots of the figure”.
• Transformers: The Game Payload Concept art: “The second character set I designed after the initial 3 for the game, this was the kickoff, and turned out to be another toy. This one I got to do some graphics and I really got into it, made a stock armored car service logo, with a Decepticon symbol thrown in there. As fun as this one was to do, I think I like the toy even better. Except for the thing on his back. Owners know what I’m talking about. Swipe for concept art, initial concept sketch, transformation logic, and shots of the figure”.

And to top our sightings of the latest Studio Series Voyager and Leader class toy at US retail, now we can report that the Transformers Movie Studio Series Deluxe Class Wave 5 has been spotted at Wal-Mart.

2005 Boards member Insane Galvatron found SS-27 Clunker Bumblebee, SS-28 Barricade and SS-29 Dark Of The Moon Sideswipe at his local Wal-Mart in Georgetown, Kentucky. This wave also brings to the shelves SS-26 World War II Bumblebee and SS-30 Crankcase who should surface any time soon.

Good news for fellow Australian collectors! The new Transformers Studio Series Wave 5 Deluxe has been found at Australian retail.

2005 Boards member MylesFFA found this wave, consisting of  SS-26 World War II Bumblebee, SS-27 Clunker Bumblebee, SS-28 Barricade, SS-29 Dark Of The Moon Sideswipe and SS-30 Crankcase, at local his Big W in Singleton, New South Wales for $30 AUD each one ($21.50 approximately).

Happy hunting to all Australian fans! Don’t forget that this wave was also spotted at US retail.

Care of In Demand Toy Facebook we can share for you our first look at the packaging of the new Transformers Masterpiece Movie MPM-08 Megatron (Transformers 2007) as well as some new additional stock photos.

MPM Megatron comes in an elegant vertical black box, featuring his robot mode swinging his battle mace at the center and his alien jet mode in the lower part of the box.

To top it all, we have 2 extra new stock photos. One showing Megatron in the iconic “Join them in extinction” pose ready to fire his fusion cannon. We can also see that we can open the battle mask to reveal face details. The second image is another shot from a different angle of the alien jet mode.

More Combiners enter to the Transformers Trading Card Game Wave 2 “Rise of the Combiners” expansion! Via The Roarbots website we can share for you the Optimus Maximus Cards!

Another great G1 reissue is coming to the market. Via TF-Factory on Weibo, we can share for you images of the G1 Ravage & Rumble and Laserbeak & Frenzy reissues.

These are sure the perfect complement for the G1 Soundwave & Buzzaw reissue revealed a while ago. Soundwave’s cassettes come in classic G1 2-packs with no differences compared to the original releases (Rumble is the red guy, Frenzy is blue guy as in the original toys), but Laserbeak seems to have shorter laser guns.

We still have no specific information about the price or release date, but they should be available via Walmart stores in the US as other previous G1 reissues. Click on the bar to check out the images and then sound off on the 2005 Boards.
